On June 24, 2026, the GREAT USA Coalition, in partnership with the U.S. Travel Association and the Senate Travel and Tourism Caucus, hosted the inaugural GREAT USA Sports & Travel Congressional Symposium on Capitol Hill. The bipartisan event brought together Members of Congress, congressional staff, federal officials, and leaders from the travel, aviation, hospitality, sports, transportation, and technology sectors to discuss how the United States can maximize the opportunities presented by an unprecedented decade of global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and America250 celebrations.

Throughout the day, speakers explored solutions to strengthen America's travel system through modernized visa processing, smarter border operations, transportation investments, emerging technologies, and stronger public-private partnerships. Across four panel discussions, participants highlighted the importance of preparing for major international events not only to deliver a world-class visitor experience, but also to create lasting economic benefits, modernize infrastructure, and strengthen the nation's global competitiveness for years to come.
